Starting Over

It's been a crazy past few months trying to keep track of myself and stay motivated to lose weight and get healthy.

So here I am ending out 2009 and starting 2010 with a different outlook on it all.

I'm starting over.

January 1 is my new DAY ONE and I have until December of 2011 to be at my original goal of 35lbs less than I was. The only problem I've been running into is that I started the 35lb goal by cutting it in half, making it 17.5lbs by December of 2010, so that I could put it in as my Wii Fit goal. I say that this is a problem because I've been gaining and losing ever since I started that and I think I'm up to needing to lose 20lbs in the next 12 months to be at my original halfway mark.

Sad, huh?

So here's the deal. I'm going to try this with more working out and just watching how much stuff I actually eat every time I do eat and snack. If I can't drop 10lbs in 6 months then I've got a major motivation problem going on, and if I can't drop it in 2 months, then I'm going to start counting Weight Watchers points again.

So that's that.

Tomorrow starts a new year.

Tomorrow starts a new me!

Day 105

This morning I weighed in and had no change since yesterday with a one pound or so change from the day before that.

This morning I weighed 191.3lbs with just a little over 17lbs left to reach the first half of my 35lb goal.

It's kind of exciting!

Today will be a hard day to fit a workout in, and tomorrow even harder, but I am going to make it happen. I've been looking for a good headache med to help with the horrid headaches and migraines I've been getting that make me have to lay down for them to go away. It gets a bit annoying to try and do a step aerobic workout with the Wii or yoga poses that require me to have my head toward my feet when my head is already throbbing... If anyone has any suggestions for OTC meds for headaches and migraines, let me know! I don't get them often, but the winter months more than the rest of the year. I think it has to do with the darkness outside and the artificial light being on in the house... (I should move south, but at least I don't live in Alaska!)

My workout goal lately has been to get in at least three hours of Wii Fit exercise in a week, which can still be hard to reach, but this week, I am upping that...

I want to be able to get about a hour a day in for at least 5 days out of the week, with heavy preference for 6 days, with taking my Sundays off...

Today will be hard. I am attempting to finish my baking over the next few days and think that today is going to be a caramel corn day... It will take a lot of time at the stove making the topping for the popcorn, and at least hot air popped corn is fat free! I'll make it a point to snack on the actual popcorn and not the caramel corn while I'm making it though...

So for this new week, wish me luck! The goal would be to still lose weight even if only another pound, but not to gain much in the process...

Day 101

Rob went shopping the day after Thanksgiving and picked up an early gift for us to have this year: Wii Fit Plus for $10.00 at Meijer. I've been ecstatic about it and been enjoying the workouts I've been able to do with it. The nice thing about it is that even though I'm busy with all the holiday stuff going on, I still seem to be able to do something at some point during the day...

My new goal with Wii Fit Plus was to lose 17.5lbs in one year; half of my two year goal. (It won't let me put in a goal for any longer than one year.) However, I have ended up needing to lose 19.2lbs in order to reach my goal! I figure that a large range goal with a small weight amount to lose would give me some time to not have to worry about the "treats" I have at Christmas time and how much I eat over the holidays and such. Also, I'm working on the whole eating large amounts of whatever I eat lately... Being stuck indoors during the cold and dark winter months makes me just want to drink hot chocolate or hot chai and sit and read.

I'm determined to beat the winter blah's this year with my Wii Fit, though. I'm determined not to gain 10lbs over the next few weeks and another 10-20lbs over the next couple of months!

I am going to work out!

I am going to lose weight!

I am going to be able to get back into the clothes that I so miss wearing!

However, if anyone has any ideas how to lessen the amount of belly fat around my incision line from my c-sections, I'd love to know! So far, any weight I seem to be losing is more around my waist line than anything. Don't get me wrong, it's great! But I won't be able to wear my old jeans until I lose a couple of inches of bulk in that area first. I'd like to not have to go to wearing skirts all day every day...

If you're doing this new goal with me (mine is to lose 35lbs by December 2011), then let me know how you're doing and where you're at and what you're goal is. Then remember to help keep me accountable! By helping me stick to my goals, I'll be helping you to stick to yours!

Good luck and happy losing!
